Where
to fly
Seattle (SeaTac) - Most accessible option regardless of where you stay. If you fly into SeaTac and plan on staying in Seattle, you could forego a rental car on non-wedding days and travel by lightrail (local train system) and bus. Public transit in Seattle rocks!
Everett (Paine Field) - Our neck of the woods! An hour north of Seattle/closer to the venue. There’s less going on up here, but you would get a little taste of our daily lives and could visit my beloved workplace, Narrative Coffee!
Bellingham (BLI) - Smallest and perhaps least accessible cost-wise and in direct flights, though they do offer direct from Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Oakland and Phoenix.
Regardless of where you fly into, a rental car is needed to get to the venue!All of the above airports have rental cars available on-site! If you are able to coordinate and share a rental car with friends, do it! We also intend on creating a discord channel for folks to link up and share the cost.
Where
to stay
Guemes Island - this is the place! If you want the least hassle, you can try to find a spot on the island. It’s tiny and precious as heck but the nearest actual grocery store is a short ferry ride away so come prepared! Last I checked there were several places available on Airbnb and Vrbo. Guemes is the first island in a chain called the San Juans. If you’re feeling adventurous and want to experience our favorite ferry ride in the PNW, look for places on Orcas Island.
Anacortes - nearest “city” with plenty of lodging and cute, coastal things to do. Just a quick ferry ride to Guemes Island and easy access to Whidbey Island and Deception Pass State Park!
Seattle - you’ll likely fly into Seattle and if you want a city vacation, you may as well stay put and enjoy the good food and coffee and summer activities! Please keep in mind that its a minimum 2 hour travel time to the venue and that you are not guaranteed to get on a specific ferry, so please give yourself extra time for travel!
Bellingham - so cute and quaint and offers excellent access to outdoors (Mt. Baker!). It’s roughly 1 hour away from the venue, so while you overshoot Guemes Island on the way up, day of travel is easier than from Seattle.
